In Brostage and surrounding areas of Dondon, even the most basic medical care is out of reach. When residents face accidents, injuries, or minor health emergencies, they are left without a nearby clinic to turn to for immediate relief. Instead, they must travel over an hour-often in poor road conditions-to reach the nearest facility in Cap-Haïtien.
One such case involved a young boy struck in the forehead by a rock. With no clinic in Dondon, his family drove more than 90 minutes to Cap-Haïtien. By the time they arrived, his face was swollen and bruised, and he was in severe pain-pain that could have been managed sooner if basic care were available locally.
This is not a rare story. From infections to small wounds, and from maternal checkups to respiratory symptoms, countless individuals suffer because no basic health services exist in their community.
Arc De Construction, Inc. seeks to change this. Our goal is to establish a small but vital community clinic in Brostage-one that can offer essential services such as wound care, first aid, health screenings, and referrals. While not designed to handle life-threatening emergencies, the clinic will fill a critical gap in care and offer relief, comfort, and connection to further medical support when needed.
